I want to upgrade the worthless foglights on my 95 to something useful. What options (if any) exist for doing this, and what have any of you done? Whatever the upgrade is, It must be done to and remain in the factory fog light housing! I don't mind doing a little :smash: if I have to. Thanks!
I don't know what bulb your 95 has but on my 89 I replaced the bulb with one with more than twice the wattage it made a big difference just be sure to pick one with the same base and you also have to change the fuse in your fuse panel because it will blow been driving mine like that for about three years now with no problems. Also i think I saw a kit to change to the hid lights like on C-5 but it was something like 500 dollars my upgrade was only about $15 dollars
On the 95, the 50w bulbs do very little compared to the same upgrade on the earlier C4's. On my 86 with the 50w bulbs, I could drive the car without the headlights.. on the 95 I wouldn't even think of it.
Stuck with stock, huh? We'll see about that!
Now, I haven't actually looked at the fog light bulb yet, but I ssume it is pretty small, nowhere near the size of a driving light? I wonder if these foglight housings (and wiring) can be modified to accept a "REAL" driving light??? ...???
Any recollection of the bulb you bought for the upgrade? Where you bought it, what brand it was, watts, etc.
Also what amp fuse did you have to put in.
Thanks
I think it was part# 885 just be sure it is 55 watt bulb mine had 18 watt in it. I got mine at autozone but any autoparts should have them.
The driving lights are fused on the tail light circuit replace the 10 amp fuse with a 15 amp. the wire is rated at 20 amp so this will not be a problem.
Don't expect this to turn them into a good set of driving lights the diffusser lens scatters the light but it is a big improvement over the worthless things that came in the car. This is one of the first mods that a made to my car when I bought it I couldn't believe how worthless those lights were. This is a upgrade that can be done in a few minutes and very little cost. :)

Has anyone checked the ground lead for the driving light?
I understand that on the later C4's it uses the high beam filliment, that's why the DL's go off when you turn on your high beams.
Some where I read about a mod that you could cut that wire and ground it to the frame.
Just wondering.
PS I'm new here so if I state the obvious it's cus I cant see :)

Seems awefully high. I bought Wagner Xenon Hyper White lights for $12.99 each and I believe the 50w fog light bulbs were $6.99. That only comes to $39.96. Someone is making and extra $30!

Nah. I paid $125 + S/H for my kit. It replaced the headlight housings, and the bulbs. I love em' and any C4 I own in the future will get these as one of the 1st upgrades. http://personal.tmlp.com/scorp/vette...ts/install.htm
Scorp, I know that you love the upgrades that you did on your headlight but can you tell me what kind of improvements that you experienced? 100%? 200% Etc.
Thanks
how did you put different bulbs in a sealed beam housing? the kit i bought included new open back plastic lens houses. 2 55/65 H-4 xenon bulbs and 2 50w fog light bulbs. color is pretty much what's called true light, just a tad hint of blue but not enough where it's noticed ..this is good as blue lights are technically illegal in most states.

On the highway I would say 150% improvement with lowbeams and 200% with high beams. I can read street signs much further away, and make out objects much further than before. Around town it is pretty much the same gains. I feel much safer at night with these lights. I have pictures around somewhere, I'll find them.
