I think that, rather than taking advice from folks who have not used that exact cam, folks should talk to people who have. (which isn't me, but I almost bought one a few years ago). Search on TGO. Lot of guys have used that cam. I know one guy who liked it on his 400. I know another guy (traxion) who did not like it on his 350. The rest you'll have to pick apart.

It does seem to have some pretty quick ramps for a flat tappet cam.

With a only a 6 degree spread and junk heads, I'm not sure it would be the cam I'd chose for your setup.

Black 89 that thing is killer, however you have done A tonne more work on your car then mine and that thing is nasty (in a good way )

I appreciate the direct response, I understand I should have probably looked for someone who has used this cam before, all I was really looking at were a couple things I understood about cams when I made the decision but I'm still new. looks like I'll get to learn the hard way about this setup.

well I'm off to save for 195 AFRs now

funny, I was looking at the same cam before

I don't know why I went with this one (it was more expensive at the store so I went with get what you pay for attitude) but I hear mixed opinions on it, I'll let you know how she does in the summer, I'll keep an eye out for how yours does

What kind of times are you running MR NICE? we have similar setups, i have a set of Pro-Action 180cc heads with a 224/230 comp cam on a 114lsa .502/.510 lift, car ran 12.3@115 with a 1.9 60ft. I also have a Mini-Ram BTW. 12.3 didn't seem bad for a passable 355ci bottom end.

They make a 503 type grind on 114 degrees too?

Wow nice time,I have not ran mine on the street yet, need a chip burned, snow to stop, and more cash.Thinking about replacing stock torque converter while I have it on jackstands.I hope mine runs close to that, I would be very happy!are you running auto or stick? Gear ratio?

3:33's with a zf6. I bought this car with most of the mods done but i do have a pretty fair background in car tinkering. I know the heads flow 262, 212 @.500, 10:8-1 compression. Car weighs 3250 WO driver. the MR, 180 heads, 224/230 cam and a good exhaust is a pretty strong combo. The motor would probably be even faster with more cam, just would never pass the sniffer. I was tossing around the idea of using the exhaust lobe on the intake as well. The heads have pretty good numbers and i have the feeling a 230/230 grind with the same XR lobes might be worth a few hp.
