Default LTx Shootout

Anyone from here planning on coming to the shootout. We need some Corvette action out there. Here is the link to the site for the race
http://www.ltxshootout.com/2008/
There is info on the classes, the track, hotels, registation and a forum to ask questions and stay updated. Hope to see some of the Corvette faithful in the other lane.

Default Nice concept, but...

In order to attract more competitors, the payout is going to have to be substantially more across the board (in the heavy hitting classes anyway). Either that, or get some contingency sponsors to step up.

Proper exploitation (read magazine exposure, local media, etc.) is also going to be needed to get some spectators in the seats. There's where the track/promoters are going to make their money. Nothing worse to a track operator than seeing 3/4 of the available seating empty while cars are going down the track.

But this is just one racers input...take it for what you will.

I wish the guys doing this luck... I hope it takes off.

This race is being put on by us LTxers. It is our registration fee that is flipping the bill for the track rental (I think the sponsors are putting up the payouts). This is an event to get LTx owners together and have some fun racing. The first thing this event needs is participation. If we can get 100+ cars, it will show sponsors, spectators, and track operators that this is a worth while event to do next year. Then there will be larger contigency and larger payouts. Some of the fastest LTx's in the country will be attending and GM High Tech Performance will be covering it. Shoot, anyone who wants a chance at a Magazine feature should bring their car just because they usually look for cars to feature at events like this one. The bottom line is, if your looking for the US Nationals don't bother. If you want to have a good time with some fellow LTx owners, enjoy some good racing, and maybe get your car in a mag. Come on out.

Its basically a gathering of LTx owners and I think it was inspired by the LSx shootout.

Every good event needs a solid "growing" year. Car owners need to prove that dispite the payouts and prizes, people will attend.

The only reason Carlisle is so successful is because people go. The first year it was held, do you think it was wildly successful and hugely promoted? No way.

Sounds like a fun event. Too bad I don't have an LTx. Maybe I'll just paint my intake red and nobody'll know. ; )

Because it's an LTx shootout. Same reason the LSx shootout is for LS based engines.

I'd love to be there, but too far for me...

Gee whiz, not a single Vette on the registration list yet.

Guess I'm gonna have to go!

Sounds like fun.
