I have a 1990. Let me explain where I'm at. 2 years ago I decided to paint and have the motor part chromed and polished. We I have the motor back together. I tried to stark car and no go. well checked fire and it's got fire. So next I pull the filter off see if maybe gas was bad. Seem fine. Then I ran a wire from battery to the lower left spot on alcl which should be g. Well I can't hear the fuel pump. I left fuel filter off to see if I was pumping. No fuel. What can I check next. Should I replace the fuel pump. Any advice please. thanks in advance. Scott
Let me ask a silly question. Does it have enough fuel in the tank?
Try spraying starting fluid in the throttle body while cranking. If it's a fuel related problem, the engine should run as long as you spray the fluid. Just be careful with it as it will back fire back out at you. Have something handy to put out a fire. Make sure there is fuel in the tank and that you have no kinks in the fuel feed line. You could have kinked the line if you put the car on jack stands.
I have a half of tank of gas. It will start by spraying fuel in throttlebody. I did check all lines because it was on block. I'm just dieing to go for a ride. thanks
If you can hear the fuel pump running, that means the wiring, fuse, and connections are good. I would take the gas lid off, take the rubber boot out, and pull the top hose (fuel feed) going to the right off. Have something handy to catch fuel from the metal line coming from the fuel pump assembly. Ground terminal G and listen for the fuel pump and see if any fuel comes out under pressure. If not, replace the fuel pump or pull the fuel pump assembly out and check for kinked, stopped up, or rusted holes in the metal lines. Anything that would impeed fuel flow.

I would pull the pump and check the pick-up and the sock..Then if you have access to an air compressor,Try to blow out the fuel line up to the filter...Seems more than likley the pump assembly (no sucky sucky) if the motor is running and no fuel pressure..
Apply 12 volts to terminal "G" again, then check for voltage at fuel pump fuse and then check voltage at pump connection. When your sure power is getting to pump and it's still not running, pull the pump.
With a volt meter I get one wire with 12 volts with key on and one with .02 volts. 3 wire system. Black = ground, purple = ? gray = ?. Can I just put 12 volts to pump and it work. I also put 12 volts to g and got nothing.Any input would help. thanks
