Default Restoring telescoping steering column. Am I missing a part?

I am restoring a tilt/telescoping 87 C4 steering column and I think I may be missing a part. It looks like there is something that is supposed to go between the telescoping spring and the turn signal canceling cam. Withouth something between the spring and cam the spring would be riding directly on the copper contacts in the cam. I know that the spring is used as a conductor for the horn but it seems like there should be something that snaps to the end of it and provides a better mechanical connection to the turn signal canceling cam.

Here is a picture of the parts I have:

This is how I assume they are supposed to be assembled. I there something missing?

Thank you 86PACER and AGENT 86. Are there any diagrams include the spring in my images? I know it attaches to the steering wheel but I would like to see a digram to make sure I am not missing something.
