Underdrive pulleys if you get the three set are worth the money.
If you do go with RR's and have more than 100,000 miles, then I would replace the stock springs at the same time. If the miles are up there you would also want to consider replacing the valve seals.
When I plulled my new Magnaflow cat and replaced it with my own custom made test pipe (this is for track only) I gained .5 seconds in the 1/4...went from 14.1 to 13.6.
You have done or have the parts (SR) most of the mods to get a few more horses. Why not save up and get a good set of AFR heads. My 85 has 230,000+ miles with the stock bottom end and she cranks...
The 85 came stock with 230 HP at the crank, with the mods listed below I have about 350 HP at the crank and about 434 pounds of torque at the crank. Not too bad for an old car

Read your mods, you should get a 219 cam to go along with the rest.
I went with MELROSE long tube easy install from under the car and they will sell you just what you want with or without the air egr fittings and coated or not (GO WITH THE COATING) and x-pipe. Then have a good shop bend you up what you need if you can go with no cats and then maybe mufflers elimnators. wro87

I think EM has a group buy on headers, do a search. If you do RR's do full rollers. IMO roller tips aren't worth all the trouble. You can get a set of LT4 101# springs from GMPP for @$35.00 as well.
85L98-84L83 - I have a 211 cam in a box waiting for a engine build. I don't want to go to the 219......difficult to smog if everything is not 100% perfect.
I took the air foil off mine after I read about one coming apart and destroying the engine of a CF member.
Especially since everyone says it does no good at all, even when installed correctly.
I bought a 52mm TB that came with an air foil. If you look at the TB and think about air rushing through it, you can see that the area where air foil would be, would cause some turbulence. I decided to keep mine, so I drilled and tapped two long allen set screws through the bottom of TB and into bottom of air foil. It's going nowhere now.

Any suggestions, any spotted cheap or a group purchase?
Magnaflow makes a OEM style dual outlet muffler that looks stock and will increase power a bit. I have seen them on Corvette Central before for about $300 a pair. Mid America has a dual outlet OEM style for around $160 a pair. Either one should ad some sound and about 5 HP.
Here is what I've done to my 86.
Comp Cams Xtreme Energy 262 cam.
1.52 roller tip rockers
Hedman Elite LT headers, best header for the money IMO, easy to install and price is great
LT4 exhaust from resonator back, flows good and got it for free
Freshened up stock heads with a valve job
Removed all emissions hardware
2600 stall
3.07 gears
No chip tune yet, idle is rough without it but not horrible.
13.5 in the 1/4
If you keep your eyes peeled you could get some great deals on engine parts. I started out with an AS&M intake setup which I later sold and bought a SuperRam. Then I grabbed some sweet heads and a 383 shortblock, which needed new bearings, but in the end I have a solid reliable 383 for ~3k.
Keep looking, one piece at a time seems much cheaper...
I got a 383 that needed bearings, seals, gaskets, and rings, and harmonic balancer for $300. I even got the TPI intake.
It had crummy swirl port heads on it though. but I put a set of 113 heads on it, and it already has forged dished pistons and a scat crank, and new roller cam
Now with gas being so high, i might not put it in the car.
Decisions, decisions, decisions......................
This is the only picture I have, but the paint looks really good. Its the black one.
Maaco??
Cool
If you don't mind, how much did they charge you for that? I am looking for low cost alternatives as I dump all my "play" money under the hood.
