Drag racing with corvettes

Re: Drag racing with corvettes (Ed Ut)
There is always the possibility of tearing something up, that's just the price you pay for the thrill. Usually though it's the safest place to test the capabilities of your car. Just be real careful on the shifts, throw it back into first when you are heading for third and you just ate the wall and probably trashed your motor at the same time.
I said I wouldn't race my car, until I did one time "just to see what it would run" now I'm a modding the crap out of it and then racing to see how much good I did. I won't go three weeks in a row, once I know how much good a mod did for me I don't see any real reason to punish the car any more until the next mod. I do however go out to the track with friends and watch a lot.

Fastguy.
I just read your profile.
Also, the fact that I can drive the 4 hour round trip with my AC on getting 26 mpg and still run 13's in a stock car is cool too.:)
Since when is: "383" and "lots 'o mods", considered stock? More power to you, though.

Re: Drag racing with corvettes (mackeyred96)
It just seems to me that this car is not designed to be a quarter mile automobile...
How many cars are???
I have to admit drag racing is fun but I like my track a bit longer than just a quarter mile at a time
Whatever blows your skirt up! Personally, I made 161 quarter mile passes in my Corvette this year. That's why they make more than just vanilla ice cream. As long as you enjoy your Corvette, it makes little difference how you do it.
WOW, that 159 more than JD MADE :D
Good job.

They work great on any type of track from what I can tell.... if you don't like the 1/4 mile.... then make us proud on the road courses.

All I got to say is my car pulls .96 g's on the gtech with Yokohama's, stock. That Corolla had better hope there are NO straightaway's on that road course. Ha Ha

Nah, throw some 4.11 gears in the rear and you got yourself a nice dragger...

Re: Drag racing with corvettes (eamador11)
I don't know about 4.11's but I am going to put in some nice 3.73's as soon as summer rolls around. Considering I only have 2.59's in my car now, the higher gears should help just a little, haha.:D
