I just can't believe it.
Indeed, I've spelled it that way on accident and if I don't catch it before I hit post... I'm sorry, and will edit the post if I catch it.

If I want to put a small cap dizzy in my 85 Vette what would I look for? Do the later Vortech or TBs work or do I have to go after market? I have only had one Camaro and it had the old big cap HEI with Vacuum advance, so I am not sure what the newer ones have.

Thanks
Joe

An 88-92 fbody dizzy, remote coil, and connectors. Some splicing and it will work fine.

The smaller the dizzy the less energy required to jump the gap at the same level of advance, but at the same time play in the shaft will show up as a larger amount of spark scatter.

Thanks Joe

Good info on the smaller Diameter. Real reason to change is to free up room at the firewall especially if I go with a lt1 intake swap.

take note, there are two different ''small'' dizzys...the one commonly used in 87-up f-bods has a 1.25'' housing diameter where it fits the manifold (manifold hole is abt 1.375'' oem)...pick-ups and caprices, etc MAY have a ''small'' dizzy with the ''other'' LARGER diameter housing that will not fit the ''std'' manifold hole, and other slight difs...the ''small'' dizzys have , in our experiences here, all proven much less reliable than the ''big'' HEI.

the lt1 intake can easily be ''chopped'' enuf to use the ''big'' vette HEI.
