I asked almost the exact same thing a few months ago, but wanna try again. I have a 94 LT1/6 speed with 91K. Corsa cat-back, Hooker shorties, K & N open lid. I finally got the whole clutch/flywheel/slave & master cylinders all replaced. A couple of weeks ago I got her out for a quick spin. She was missing pretty bad. When I got back home I noticed a huge puddle of pretty green coolant in the garage floor. Sure enough, the water pump has hit its limit, flooding the Opti (which has been acting up for a while). I bought a brand new Delco water pump and an MSD Opti distributor that includes the fresh air vent system. I am going to go ahead and change radiators while we are in there since the old one does have lots of bent fins. SO...while all that stuff is out of the way, now is a great time for a cam kit. I need some advice here. I want a few more horses and am willling to spend about another $500 for cam kit, $200 for gears & seal, and maybe another $250 to $500 on a tune. I am leaning toward the HotCam kit but also looking at the Comp Cam with 1.6:1 rockers. I know I will replace the timing chain set and front seal also.
Will I have to replace fuel injectors? Will I have to retune? If I run the Comp set up, do I HAVE to buy new springs and related hardware? If I buy the HotCam, do I HAVE to buy new rockers? What kind of power can we expect?
I have been putting this project off for quite a while since my wife got laid off a couple of months ago, but we are trying to get the car ready for spring time.

Should not have to increase size of fuel injectors.
You will not gain the full benifit without a tune.
If you buy the hot cam kit it comes with new springs retainers and of course the rr.
If you do not use rr you will not gain the full potential as the rr remove a lot of internal friction which results in more RWHP.
If you go the route of the hot cam kit and a new timing set up you should also invest in a new set of LS7 lifters again to reduce internal friction and free more hp to the rear wheels.
