Default Weird headlight problem

Hi everyone, great site! I have a weird problem with the right headlight on my 85. I replaced the headlight motor with a rebuilt unit from Dino's because the motor was toast. The headlight will open and close once or twice at the most and then binds up about 1/2 inch open. I cannot rotate the headlight with the manual ****. If I loosen the bolts holding the whole assembly, then I can now use the **** to open or close the light. As soon as I tighten the mounting bolts again it will work fine through one or two cycles and bind again. I have plenty of clearance, I have been careful in how I tighten the assembly down, have not actually torqued the bolts but have been careful, using a sequence like you would tightening down a head. This is driving me nuts! I have to drive around with the lights up and motors unplugged. Have searched the forum with no luck. Anybody have this happen? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Don't know if this is the right answer or not but did you check the bushings/gears when you replaced the motor?

The replacement was a complete, rebuilt unit, gears and all. The binding part is what has me confused. I loosen the headlight assembly mounting bolts and it frees right up and works perfectly once or twice and then binds up again.
