Default oil filter adaptor

Any tricks on removing the oil filer adaptor. I need to change the pan gasket and can't drop the pan with it in the way. Unless someone else knows a way to get the pan out. I've tried everything.

is this the oil/water cooler under the oil filter? replace the gasket where it meets the block.
The gasket/o-ring is no longer available from Chevrolet. Go to a auto parts place that sells Fel-Pro complete engine gasket sets, and look on the box for the o-ring part number and order that one item.

This is a promising answer to a gasket question. However, it may be
that only some FelPro boxes list part numbers for the individual items.

A full set that I have here does not provide part numbers for the
contents. The external label only details the contents by quantity,
description and country of origin. A check inside did not turn up a
sheet with a list of part numbers.

FWIW - the external label identifies the gasket as

"1 - Oil Cooler Adaptor Seal . United States"

.
