Wow,
Why are the 85 heads (i know they are iron) so much larger than the 89 aluminum heads. They are 58 cc if I am not mistaken. Just curious as to why. Perhaps they have different pistons :confused:

Yeah i cc the stock 85 heads and they were right on 76ccs. Ski, there are two reasons the later aluminum heads have such small chambers. 1) they increased the CR as the Alum heads can handle more and 2) they used a different piston and thicker head gasket so as not to raise the CR too much. Wait was that three???
