Hypertech tune w/160 therm
Replace 2 o-ring seals for injectors ( he said they were sucking air)
Maybe 4:10's ( depending on cost)
Should there be a notable difference?
What would one expect for 0-60 & the quarter with these mod's?
Ive heard the same about the hypertech as far is it making cars slower. I read while researching it for myself that it actually slowed the car a full second in the 1/4. I would be shocked if it slowed it that much, but consistent reports from owners saying it is slower scared me away.
As for the o-rings, Ive seen them dry and in need of replacement, but not sucking in air to the point that there is a significant power loss. To me that sounds more like a maintenance action.
Now the 4.10s...yes, you will feel that off the line. To me changing a rear gear can show a huge difference form many other mods. Be careful though, too low of a gear and it can slow you in the 1/4 while making you faster in the 1/8th. This is because it allows the engine to reach max rpm more quickly with regards to wheel speed. Just my .02
4.10's yes - you'll feel that difference. The rest of the list......waste of money.
Things like maintenance are never a waste of money especially considering FI o-rings are one of the most commonly passed over things in the car and you rarely have good access to them (well most people, not me :wily: ). Sadly as for the hypertech...

Replacing the O-rings is a must. If you dont you risk setting the whole care on fire. I had one break on my fuel rail and luckily shut the car off because it caught fire. It'll leak down onto the exhaust and boom!
I'd keep the old chip just in case the Hypertech don't work right.
The '96 does not use a chip.
You re-flash the computer with a programmer.
If your going to use the Hypertech, that device will store your stock program while it uploads the new Hypertech program to your computer.
If you don't like the outcome, you just plug it back in and return your settings to stock. So, don't lose or sell the programmer. You will need it if you decide to go back to stock.
4.10 and the LT4 are like best friends. With that mod alone you have the potential to see mid 12s if your good with manual. I think your car stock is low to mid 13sec stock. I love the 160 stat. Engine temp stays around 180 to 200. I swear my car felt sluggish with stock stat engine temps seeing up to 230. Thats my opinion and opinions vary here on that item.

Have you given any thought to a 3.73 over a 4.10? You'll be able to shift a tad later, save a little mpg, rev lower, save a little wear and tear on the motor and have a higher top speed. In my opinion, 3.73 is the best gear if you're going to do a gear change.
