Default 1988 window rattle

Hi to all.

I have a stock 1988 coupe that has a driver’s side widow rattle when the window is partially down. I took off the door panel and found that the glass will hit the two bolt ends that hold on the side view mirror. I checked the other door (which does not have the problem) and can not see any difference. The anti-rattle pads seem to be in place. Any help or suggestions on this would be really helpful; I just do not have any experience with this type of repair. THANK YOU!!!

The outer seal on the window in question is poor; cracked and broken. I assume from your question that the outer seal provides enough pressure on the glass to keep this from happening?

Thank you for your help; I really appreciat it!!

Does the top of the door panel fit secure? You may need a new top molding strip. Newer design is re-enforced with a metal strip.

Thank you for the help; I am going to order and install a new outer seal; and see what happens. As far as the inner seal; that one is tight and in good shape. Thank you to both of you for your help.
