I've not had any problems with the available resperators. I don't know that clear coat is much worse than catalized enamels or primers. I've enhaled all of them.
probably wouldn't look right on a vert. if it was me, i would go with base clear because it is easy to fix minor flaws after the clear cures. not to mention to get a nice layout of the metalic flakes in the base, you will want to fog your last coat of base. i don't have much experience with single stage paints.

the hardest thing in the world to do is teach some one paint and body work in a couple paragraphs.......it takes yrs to learn the in's an out's of making a car straight and painting a car. my advice is if you can disassemble and assemble the car, that is good. but carry it to some one that has all the equipment and talent that would WANT to paint your car. you will be much happier in the end.
