electrical issue, engine code 42
ok so i had some electrical issues with my 89 vette. The engine code i keep getting now is 42. The info i got on this says that i should Check wiring at ignition module. Replace ignition module. Possible ECM failure. How would i do this???? what is the ignition module and how would i know it is this or the ecm? thank you for yor time

Have you played with the timing lately. You have to disconnect the EST wire to bypass the computer. That usually throws a code. Unless its loose, locate it and check connection. See picture below the EST wire located on the batch of wires going to ECM.
