Your pofile says you have a 1991. I had to get the final fit on my 86' done by a shop, but I put the headers on myself. It isn't too bad. As mentioned above, 6-8 hours labor sounds about right. If you are curious as to what's involved on an L98, I made a photo doc of the install you can see here:
I had mine put in when the motor was being changed. But according to what the mechanic said 6-8 hours should be right on. Just curious did you get the hooker y pipe also you are you going to have them fab something up?
the first time I had a shop do it for about $300.00........the secount time I did it my self and it was a bitch getting the passenger side ......out and in........had to take the oil pan off (I have a cantfield 7 quart)........and to the guys who say you only have to jack the car 12 inchs off the ground.......bit me........2 1/2 ft is more like it..........next time if there is one the shop will do it on there lift.........
i put tpis headers and y-pipe on and the only thing that was a pita was the starter. i went with a mini. also my car only 12"-16" in the air on jackstands
I just put a set on my 86. The passengerside is a little tight, had to reroute a wiring harness. On the driver's side I had to fab a new alt brace. Otherwise no problems.
Do you not think its possible, someone may have no desire to turn wrenches ?? Maybe they just want to know how much it costs to have headers installed. Did anybody read his question ?
2 hrs for the 2149s to go in. They almost fall in. This is on a lift, by a guy (me) who doesn't like doing exhaust. Add another hour to remove the old manifolds.
Last time, our shop charged $360 and tax to do it on a 91. With taxes the bill came out to $385.20. So like 6 hours and labor. It was very straight forward.
I called a Corvette Performance shop near me and asked about my new TPiS headers, was told it was a days work @ $85.00 an hour, so I guess I'll be doing it myself.

How long did it take to install the ones you got from me?
When I had those in my car they just fell in. The install is fine. The heat, and the fact that the bottoms rusted and I had to sandblast them is what pissed me off.

For me, it took roughly 3 hours, not including the painting. I took out all the AIR stuff like about 4 months prior to the installation so spark plug changes would be a breeze. Yeah the headers basically "fell in" like what you said.
On the guy with the 91, his car seemed more complex because of all the AIR junk and extra crap in the way. Since his headers were the non-emission compliant 2151s, we had to weld in a bung in for his O2. Other than that, he agreed to let all that extra AIR crap hang until he's ready to pay us a bit more to remove them.
well clearly you don't have the writing thing down. Besides youre always bragging that you have an LPE car which means you didn't do 90% of the work either.
This thread is loaded with unnecessary chest beating and useless ranting. Why can't he get a simple answer for his question and those that are not interested in helping just shut the f$%# up ?
This used to be a much friendlier site, what happened ?
