Hi my electronic climate controls panel likes to go all haywire at times sometimes i give it a lil bash and blinks back to normal
it likes up all the lil lights behind the words. but the green numerical display turns off and so do the lil orange lights for the buttons.
somethings the orange lights start to blinky very randomly usually blinking in a sequence of rear defrost, bi-lev and front defrost and at the same time this happens my green numerical display appears to be like...... well spinning around?? whats going on??
mine does the same thing, the numbers start blinking and then they go nuts and the orange lights flash. I figure its just a connector loose or something. Apparently the last owner had a complete idiot install a CD Changer and he really screwed things up inside my dash

Re: Electronic Climate Control Panel (65Z01)
65Z is correct. Pull the unit out and clean the metal contacts. This is very easy to do. Be sure to purchase a shop manual and a Haynes manual. It's one of the best investments you can do for your car. Good luck.
Re: Electronic Climate Control Panel (CoolVette86)
mine does the same thing, a very technically oriented tool...namely my fist placed squarly on the side of the dash has fixed the problem when it happens in the past. i keep meaning to get some electric greese & clean all the contacts when i tear the dash apart next time? is it the unit that normally fails or just a connection?

everyone on the forum and my buddy who owns an 86 said that its usually the connection and to clean them with a vinyl eraser. and if you see cracked solder points just touch them up with some more solder but not too much so best to get someone who knows what they're doing to do the solder work.
