Default Outer door (window) seal replacement

I have just replaced the window regulator in my 93 LT1. Putting all back together I see that the outer door seal have clips that clip into holes in the door. Mine are pretty bad so I would like to replace them. The aftermarket ones have rivets. Will I have to remove the window again to install???? I just got the window nicely aligned and would hate to take it out again. Thanks for the advice.

Window can stay. Seal should have clips and rivets.

Just does not look like I will have much room to do any riveting with the window in place. I have loosened the window pads. I guess I will just have to get in there and give it a shot. Thanks.

I replace mine 10 years ago without the rivets and they are still in place.

Memory says I could not install one of the rivets due to the glass. The clips do a good job holding it, so missing one or two rivets is livable.

I did the ones on my 92 this past fall. All you have to do is take off the door panels. I got all the rivets in. It took some maneuvering to get the rivet gun just right but they all went in.

Rivets may be good for authenticity but I used pan head screws and they're MUCH easier.

I was able to get to all rivets by simply loosening the guide pads. the hardest part was getting the old one out because the clips grab so good.

I used wafer head screws, make sure to drill a pilot hole first.
