First you state it is a POS $600 intake, and then when you're proven wrong on all counts, you state reasons why the intake is suddenly worth the price.
You don't want to be accused of being one of those people who can't admit when they're wrong do you?
1. I didn't read the full E-bay add 'til later and ***umed (bad, I know) it was stock intake.......and didn't see that a TB came with it.
2. It wasn't a stock intake and every post I made assumed stock. Go back to the first page and you will see this was posted:

4. Sorry to disappoint (I know you're not really disappointed) but I don't see where a stock LT4 intake sold on E-bay for more than $400 in the last week. So no, I'm not gonna admit to being wrong.......just surprised.
5. I will admit to being wrong when a stock intake (no porting/no TB) sells for $600+. And I'll be even more surprised, to boot!
The above url thouroughly explains the differences between the LT1 and the LT4.
From what I've seen, $1500 is a good price for an lt4, depending of course on milage and condition.
The lt4 intake is an upgrade from the lt1. Shorter runners and higher flow rate. The tb ports are 56mm I believe.
Even if you could get an lt1 for $700, the lt4 hot cam kit sells for around $700+. So, when all is said and done, your're probably better off getting the lt4 long block.
But then, buying used motors is kind of like going all in with a pair of dueces and praying on the river card.

And the kit does not include manifold. Although the lt1 manifold will of course work, the lt4 is still better. He's still coming out ahead by getting the lt4 motor.
That's incorrect; their the same as the LT1 intake.
Also incorrect.....also the same as the LT1.
The only difference of note between the LT4 intake and LT1 intake is that the LT4's ports are raised .1" vs the LT1's ports.......oh, and the color.
You can refer to the link that you posted .

Hey Kevin, read the rest of the link. Now that I think of it you are right about the manifold. I now recall that I must of been thinking about the Edlebrock, I stand corrected. However the lt4 is specifically matched to the lt4 heads which are significantly different than the lt1 heads.
Of course this thread got hijacked by the "manifold" argument. What the OP wanted to know was the worth of the lt4. With regards to the "total package" that GM put together in the lt4, $1,500 is a good price. The sum of the parts to build one would far exceed this price.

You said the hotcam kit "sells for 700+" I try not to post stuff as gospel when I am guessing.
