have 94 6 speed. car has warranty so we have already replaced opti spark, wires, plugs, coil module. no codes set, nothing in history. intermitent stall when cold, low rpm, w/o setting a code. will turn over, but no spark. tow to corvette shop, and it starts the next morning. they have taken the car twice and driven it for days without getting it to stall or miss a beat. i get it back and it stalls out. ( i have been driving this vette for 4 years w/o stalling it out) car is at a chevy dealer now, they all think i am nuts (possibly) as the car runs like new. any suggestions ?
thanks
david
Here's a shot in the dark. Do you have a lot of keys on the keyring?
Say you drive your car with a bunch of keys and the ignition switch is worn out. You stall and try to restart it. This might set the anti-theft mode.
You have your car towed and you don't want to give the mechanic all your house, personnal, etc keys so you just give him the ones he needs. He can't recreate the problem.
The weight of your keys on the keyring could cause the ignition switch to do some funky things, and possibly momentarily tweak the cyl. just enough to break contact. -Matt-
thanks for the reply, i am going to pick the car up friday and check the wires myself. filter already replaced, fuel pump making preasure just fine.
thanks

nice try, but after fighting that problem on an 86 vette i learned my lesson. keys for vettes with nothing on them including those stupid valet fobs.
thanks anyway,

by forum standards this is an old thread, but just in case anyone who answered is still interested. car scanned clean a local chevy dealer, took it home, parked it for 2 days, started to move out of garage and it finnaly stalled when i was home with my tools. cranked and has spark, can hear fuel pump running. floored it and it started but puffed lots of unburned fuel. it was flooded, not starved for fuel, that was causing the stalling, who would have thought. back at dealer with new info, warranty approved new computer, and it had set a code 15, i am told the idle air controler, which will also be replaced. the pieces begin to fit together. anyway, thanks to all who responded.
