has anyone seen a decent centerbolt valve cover replacement? right now i have the stockers basically gutted on the inside to clear my summit racing special $159 roller rocker arm that is just enormous. has anyone seen a decent carbon fiber centerbolt cover? or a nice looking ceterbolt that will fit with the TPI? just wondering who makes what
2001 wheels fit your car nice man :) anyway my stockers look really good, a post awhile back about polishing your plenum actually used my engine pics to show the after results. if i spend the time to learn how to post html i'd list a few more. anyway i'm picking up the edelbrock tpi kit soon & am debating if i should powder coat the runners metalic blue to match my covers, waterneck and wires or if i want to do a color change to red with the powdercoating and use carbon fiber for valve covers. a red powdercoated runner set, polished plenum and carbon fiber sounds like a cosmetically decent combo. the other issue is my covers leaking since i had to gut them. it's not bad but after a week of driving there are dribbles comming out of the bolt holes and also the breather.
Yea, red powdercoated runner set, polished plenum and carbon fiber sounds like a sharp combo.
Actually, I looked for a carbon set for a while, thought about powderd coating a bunch, looked for a chrome or polished set that I liked, etc. After I finished my valve train work, I just didn't have any replacements ready, so I just said, "what the heck, I'll polish these and see how they come out".
The style I reallly liked was the 'ball milled' aluminum, but I couldn't find a set that would defintely fit under the LT1 alternator bracket. Have you checked those out? I was going to get a set and paint in the ball milled lines in red.
If I run across anything I'll let you know.
I saw a set of carbon ones in Zip products catalog i not sure if you can find them on their website or not but check in to and let me know if they still have them.
