I have an 88 Corvette that I just got in November. It looks like someone modified the dash on the passenger side and removed the protruding part and replaced it with a flat panel. There is a Corvette insignia in the center of the panel with a small red light in it that blinks sometimes and I can't figure out what it is supposed to be for. Didn't see it in the owners manual. This is my first Corvette so I'm kinda ignorant about it.
Replacing the bread box with a panel is not a terrible thing, theres a kit made to do so. The BB doesn't really house anything other than some a/c ducting, as for the light I have no clue. I can tell you there are no lights on the passenger side from the factory, is there by chance an after market alarm? or it could be that the previous owner just liked the way it looked and added a light.
Thanks for the info. I can't figure it out. My security light comes on in the center of the dash but I don't know why the other one comes on and blinks. It doesn't come on all the time but when it does it blinks.
Thanks Doc

Sounds like an aftermarket alarm has been installed or the previous owner bought one of those LED's that make it look like there is an alarm system.
I have my aftermarkey keyless entry mounted behind my flat panel. Pull yours and see what's lurking behind.
