Very nice runs, as some said you should easily see mid to LOW 11s!

You are spinning a LOT off the line by the looks of your 60' times - so you are gaining some MPH due to the spin off the line - with a dead hook you will probably trap around 116-117MPH - so you should see about 11.3s with a good hook.

Get some tires under that thing and let her eat - your missing out on the best part of dragracing and that is the launch!

Good job for the first time out. You will be in the ranks of some respectable cars if you can get it hooking.

Hint: weld 15 x 10 wheels with a 5.5" backspace; and 26x10.5 MT slicks

You will be there.

Nice runs man. Your mph is very good. I suspect you are making over 400 at the tires with your mph. You should be able to work your 60 foot times down to 1.7's fairly easily, which will pick you up .3 to .4 on the big end. Say hello to 11's.

Were you running ET Streets?

Looking forward to the videos!

The C5zo6 time was better then most stock Zs I see around 12.5. You obviously have a strong runner. You might need a pair of MT drag radials. Have to get that 60' down to 1.6s and youll see low 11s.

Yes I am running MT ET streets. What pressure are you guys running in them? I had 15 lbs in mine on my last run. After watching my videos, I can tell I need to launch the car a lot harder. I never dumped it in fear of breaking something.

I shifted to second to early on my first run, and if you listen close on the third run I hit the rev limiter in second. My burn outs suck too.

Sorry for the crappy video, it was my father in laws first time using a video camera.

Great times. Would you mind telling me what clutch you are using? I am building a 383 and haven't picked a clutch setup yet. Thanks, Tom

Hey man, your times are great for 1st time out!

A 1.9 60' is not that bad, you'll probably do better next time though. It's really hard to get these cars to hook, a 1.9 was my best time as well, on BFG drag radials. But that's on an 18" tire which makes it tough.

Actually I forgot you were coming down but it wouldn't have mattered because I was out of town.

DEFINITELY ping me when you are in town again. My build is going kind of slow right now so not sure when I'll have mine running, it's killing me not being able to get to the track though.

The RX7 in the video is not the one I was thinking you might have been running I don't "think".

There is a 2nd gen in town (like the body style in your video) with an LS1 that IS VERY, VERY QUICK, I forget the guy's name but it runs 11's all day long without even hooking. In fact it's the quickest car I have ever ridden in to date. It looks like crap but is super quick.

Anyway, nice job. Welcome to the addiction . . . . . .

Edit - BTW did you try disconnecting your front sway bar? I've been meaning to try it but always forget. I'm probably just gonna remove it entirely but need to do a little testing before I do it.

On the ASR you might just try pulling the fuse while you are at the track, I'm pretty sure that will disable it so you don't even have to think about. I hated it so I got rid of it entirely.

1st run

I was nervous as hell first of all. I lined up next to a C5 Z06 405 hp. The car was stock except he had drag radials on it. I went to do my burn out and low and behold I forgot to turn off the freakin ASR. I was pissed. I launched the car at about 2500 RPM and spun the drag radials.

R/T - .090
60 - 2.110
1/4 - 12.493
MPH - 116.09

I was on the z06's *** the whole way down the track. He red lighted and ran a 12.105@118.71

2nd run

I talked to the guy in the C5 and he was blown away that my C4 could keep up with him. Anyway I let some air out of my tires, took them down to 20 lbs, I had 32 lbs in them! This time I remembered to turn off the ASR and did a better burn out. I was lined up next to a POS RX7. This time I launched at 3000 rpm and spun the tires again, even grabbed 2nd.

R/T - .657
60 - 2.092
1/4 - 12.311
MPH - 120.90

The turd ran a 16.335@86.03

3rd run

Some guy in a Pro Street Beretta breaks and spews oil from the tree all the way to the end of the track. It takes 2 hours to clean up, I was almost ready to load the car up and go home. They finally got it cleaned up. I ended up taking my tire pressure down to 15 lbs. Started my burn out, and guess what, I left the ASR on again! Can I just unplug the danm thing? I lined up next to a ford Ranger that was tubbed. I thought he was going to toss my salad. I launched the car at 3000 RPM and this time it hooked. I smoked the Ranger and ran...

R/T - .290
60 - 1.913
1/4 - 12.154
MPH - 119.40

The Ranger ran a 13.853@102.02

That was it for the night.

I think I did pretty good for my first time out. If I would have dumped the clutch and hooked I would have been in the 11's. I was feathering the clutch. Also my car hasn't been dyno tuned yet either.

Dyno tune and 4.10's

thanks for ******* my rx7, go figure i read this not five minutes after i complemented your vette in another thread

Rev limiter is set to 6,800 rpm. I bounced off of it a couple times. I might invest in a shift light.
