Default Just got back from the track

This was my first time ever drag racing.

1st run

I was nervous as hell first of all. I lined up next to a C5 Z06 405 hp. The car was stock except he had drag radials on it. I went to do my burn out and low and behold I forgot to turn off the freakin ASR. I was pissed. I launched the car at about 2500 RPM and spun the drag radials.

R/T - .090
60 - 2.110
1/4 - 12.493
MPH - 116.09

I was on the z06's *** the whole way down the track. He red lighted and ran a 12.105@118.71

2nd run

I talked to the guy in the C5 and he was blown away that my C4 could keep up with him. Anyway I let some air out of my tires, took them down to 20 lbs, I had 32 lbs in them! This time I remembered to turn off the ASR and did a better burn out. I was lined up next to a POS RX7. This time I launched at 3000 rpm and spun the tires again, even grabbed 2nd.

R/T - .657
60 - 2.092
1/4 - 12.311
MPH - 120.90

The turd ran a 16.335@86.03

3rd run

Some guy in a Pro Street Beretta breaks and spews oil from the tree all the way to the end of the track. It takes 2 hours to clean up, I was almost ready to load the car up and go home. They finally got it cleaned up. I ended up taking my tire pressure down to 15 lbs. Started my burn out, and guess what, I left the ASR on again! Can I just unplug the danm thing? I lined up next to a ford Ranger that was tubbed. I thought he was going to toss my salad. I launched the car at 3000 RPM and this time it hooked. I smoked the Ranger and ran...

R/T - .290
60 - 1.913
1/4 - 12.154
MPH - 119.40

The Ranger ran a 13.853@102.02

That was it for the night.

I think I did pretty good for my first time out. If I would have dumped the clutch and hooked I would have been in the 11's. I was feathering the clutch. Also my car hasn't been dyno tuned yet either.

Was the RX 7 red with a cage and lightened up ? i saw one at Beech Bend in the fall. He said it had 450 HP. Ran 16s.
By the way you ran some pretty good numbers. Fix that traction control and youve got it made.

I've forgot to turn the traction control off before. It's a little embarrassing, but your not alone.

Nice times. Really good for your first time.

With those trap speeds you could run mid 11's. We'll have to get you dualies for traction.

good et's and great mph your car is capable of mid to low 11s with just seat time at the track. 1320ft / 120 mph = 11.0 with perfect traction

I think I did pretty good considering there was an new 505 hp Z06 there, the car was stock except he had some 11' wide ZR1 rims on the back with BFG DR's. His best time was 12.1.

Also I was getting faster every run, only ran it 3 times. If the track hadn't been shut down for 2 hours (they shut down at 6 pm) I would have got another run in, may have made it into the 11's.

I am going to post some vids when I get them off the camera and onto the computer.

It's a little dark, I put it on my steering wheel.

It works for me. BTW, great times and mph.

Nice runs. With a little more practice and traction you have an easy 11 second car. You should be able of get your 60 foot times down to 1.7 seconds or lower.
