code 26: quad driver circuit 1. So I know that code refers to a fault somewhere in circuit 1. I believe that would be solenoids and relay for Air pump, EGR, and Cannister solenoid. Correct?
Checked ohms across each and can't find anything wrong...all are in excess of 20 ohms...considerably so. EGR solenoid reads 42 ohms, AIR reads 57 ohms, yet to read cannister solenoid (just read about where to find it). IF that checks out...what next. ECM?
I had a code 43 (knock sensors) that wouldn't go away, even after I tried everything. I replaced the sensors, checked voltage and resistance everywhere, and finally cut the wire leading from the ecm leading to the sensors and connected it thru a resistor to ground. The fault was in the ecm, and when I replaced it, it fixed the problem. Take-home message: suspect the ecm, because they can and do fail.
I saw them listed in the Mall here for under $90. Too bad - I paid $100 plus shipping for mine.
