I am installing a new EGR Valve Temperature Switch in my 86 roadster. This seems like an easy enough chore, but the switch connector is down behind the distributor and very difficult to get to. You can barely hold onto it with your finger tips which makes it near impossible to use your other hand to snap the male connector into place. Any ideas about how to make this snap connection without removing the distributor? Any help will be appreciated.
When I replaced mine I took the plenum extension off and then took off the distributor cover, did not remove the wires and was able to get to it w/ no problem.

Thanks guys for your input. I was able to get a string around the female coupling and move as many wires & cables out of the way enough to get to it with great difficulty. After 3-4 hours of fiddling with it, I finally got it in without taking the distributor cap off. What a PITA !
I was replacing the aluminum foil heat shield on the EGR tube and thought that while I was in there I would replace the EGR switch since I had to uncouple it to get the new heat shield in place. All this as part of my NCRS Top Flight preparation. Thanks for your help and encouragement.
