Anyone using the wind and noise deflectors that mount on the mirrors??? If so, did you rivet them on???...Have seen several differant styles. Which one better fits the contours of the mirrors?????/
I did purchase a set to install over the winter. I have been considering if I should have them painted. But they will match the minimal amount of black on the car.
I bought the set with double sided tape, but they can always be rivetted.
If you use the tape, you can always take them off with no holes.
I purchased a set from Mid-America...around $25.00, they come with 2-sided tape AND rivets. I currently have them attached with the 2-sided tape...I'm a little leary about drilling holes in my mirror housing. It's been about a month and so far they have held up well, and they really cut down on air deflection/noise coming into the cabin. I highly recommend them!
I had mine taped on and after a while they loosened up.
I used a couple of small metal screws. So far it's held up good.
BTW: I found they really help cut down the noise.
I bought a set of GM wind deflectors and installed them on the car. The tape is OK to use to position them, but it does not hold for beans. I used three pop rivets, alum. ones, then used some black touch up paint to cover the heads.
I have the wind deflectors.. they are on with screws. Hold them on fine... don't make any rattling noises and compared to other vettes i've ridden in, it sounds a lot less windy noisey around that area.
