I know AC makes a replacement fuel pump but has anybody had any luck with another brand? Holley ect... 96 LT 4...every place I look they have no listing other than AC or a knockoff brand ive never heard of....thanx....G
I can tell you when you decide to purchase the pump, make sure it comes new strainer boot, and gasket. Most place will charge you for the gasket to the sending unit you need to pull to replace the pump.
I'll second the Racetronix parts. I got the kit and all the parts fit right first time. Racetronix includes new bolts & gasket for the tank sending unit.
Delco, Carter, and most stock replacements are easily up to the task of anything near stock. You shouldn't need a new sending unit gasket, unless you get unlucky. I have replaced my pump a couple of times and been in there a couple of times more and the factory gasket isn't leaking, yet. The sock (the pump inlet strainer), and the fuel filter should both be changed along with the pump.
