headlight question from a newbie, already searched
I just wanted to know if there are any modifications that must be done in order to use this headlight, I know it says no mods to housing, but what about wiring, etc...
Im pretty sure its a simple replacement. However, you may want to look into spending a little more money and getting the Hella replacements. Same principle, but I have read about it having much better light distribution than the no-name H4-conversions. $55 from MidAmerica:
I've been using those for over 10 years. They are GREAT! You can actually get a higher rating H4 Bulb and I did.
Other people don't like it at night and I sometimes get flashed when they think I'm using high beams. I then put on my high beams and REALLY blind them :-)
I don't drive my C4 much at night anyway so it isn't a problem really.

The Hella lamps are much better. They are well made, the lense is glass (and it will not be an issue with the headlamp motor gears!) and the beam provides much improved distribution of light. In addition, the beam has a flat top so that glare when driving in rain or fog is greatly reduced.
The Hella lamps come with an generic H4 halogen bulb, but get the SilverStar Ultra H4 bulbs and use them. The SilverStar bulb has a 4000 degree Kelvin color temp and will appear close to a white light than the yellow-white of a standard halogen.
You could also just get the SilverStar Ultras in the 6054 type and install them . Saves money and the fit with no problems.
