Default Supercharging experts? heads/cams needed?

I have decided to buy this short block(2nd from bottom on link)Chevy 383ci Supercharger Short Block(the pistons are SRP/JE Forged -31cc dish, zero deck height)
http://www.golenengineservice.com/ht...rt_blocks.html

what heads and cams, would be most suited to a supercharger setup?, I like the look of the vortech gen 2 charger, or something like that one.

I already have a rpm air gap intake and 750cfm holley carb, that I would like to use, get the engine now, and get super charger next year.

aiming for 700bhp+

1978 vette

thanks

dave

I am sure Golen engine services could recommend heads and matching cam for supercharger setups. I personally have AFR heads which work well with blowers.

I agree, the AFR heads are what I would go with, they have excellent flow numbers and they have a thicker deck surface which helps to keep the head gaskets sealed up. Bob

Head selection is highly dependent upon the other parts selected for the combination (cam, intake, emissions compliance, powerband desired, etc).

The AFR 195s will work for 95% of the applications desired. The AFR 210s will work better in high end applications where HP is going to be over 550 CHP. Both the 195s and the 210s come with the 3/4" thick deck, which will aid in head gasket life expectancy. I ran the AFR 195s for several years, but switched to AFR 215CPs when I switched to the 408 cid, large solid roller cam, and added the MRII and the D1R.

I hope this helps.

I recently pulled the trigger on AFR195's for my blower engine.

I was going to just port a set of stock LT1's, what sold me was the exhaust flow, perfect for a blower engine.

Tony's going to do a custom cam for me as well.
