Ok guys, I've looked and can't seem to find what all I should replace on my 1988 aluminum headed L98 while installing 1.6 rr. I purchased Jegs self aligning 1.6rr and I will replace the springs with gmpp lt4 springs.

1. Will I need to replace the valve spring retainers? If so with which ones?

2. Will/should I replace valve seals while I'm in there? If so with which ones?

3 What mods if any will have to be made to clearance the stock valve covers?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated and all of you're wildest dreams will come true as far as you know.

Thanks, Jay

1. You will need the LT4 base and cap, to use those springs.

2. I would and did. Felpro viton intake seals on all 16.

3. Depending on rocker, you may only have to trim drip tabs on top. I had to shave the side of bolt towers due to the massive size of my Crane rockers.

TPIS sells some titanium retainers that are very competitively priced.

Just order the LT4 retainers when you order the springs.
