Well I just had a full nitrous kit installed, twin custom painted bottles, electronic openers, heated stands, progressor and purge with a blue LED light. parts alone was about $2600. Well after it was installed and put on the dyno. Everything was fine on the engine but when the nitrous was activated there was oil blowoff from the dip stick? the engine is 3 years old with maybe between 1000-2000 miles on it. Any ideas?
Thanks!!!!!
The link I added to my previous post discussed how some members were addressing the same issue your engine is experiencing.
It appeared in the posts that some members had success with different types of venting of the pressure.
I have also read that members have encountered similar situations in boosted applications for turbos and superchargers.
I was fortunate enough not to have the issue you are currently experiencing. Did the shop that did the install offer any suggestions?
I am sure someone will chime in with their experience in how to rectify the situation. Good luck.
Post some pictures of your set-up, it sounds awesome!
FYI - I have a SR 383 stroker setup with a P600B, and I've never had an issue with oil blow-out. But I'm also running a Lokar dipstick, that thing has a great seal.

I just got it back and took some pictures and down loading them now. When they are approved I will post them. Thanks for the advise on the dipstick but so far there has not been a problem other then on the dyno. When it was road tested there was no blow by. I think I will look into the dip stick as a precaution!
you are simply pushing cylinder pressure past the rings, it is gonna happen with nitrous or boost at some point. perhaps the motor was not fully brought up to temperature and if this is the case and it has 2618 forged pistons, they may not have been expanded all the way. with forged motors I let them warm up a good bit before beating on them due to this.. some builders like to run the tolerances a little lose to the point you get piston slap when cold or even when not under load.
I personally like mine a little bit tighter then that, maybe talk to the builder and or recheck your card for the final hone diameter and check the piston diamter. may also want to check the ring end gapo specs and compare them to what the ring manufacturer recommends.
on blower/turbo cars I find that having plenty of venting or even crank case scavenging promotes better ring seal and less blow by. be careful if it isn't taken care of it will begin pushing oil past seals and creating leaks.
Thanks for the information!!! I feel much better now. It may have been cold when they dyno tuned it because I have not had the problem but I will keep a eye on it. I just posted some pictures of my setup on a new thread. Thanks again!!!
