Default vats

I have bypassed the ignition resistor on the vats system but I`m still having problems with my corvette not starting. I can hear the stater enable relay clicking so I`m guessing that its working. When I turn the key the security light doesn`t come on just the brake light?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Default No Start

If you hear the solenoid clicking when turning the key to 'start', it's not the VATS causing no start. Also the clutch/shifter safety switches are not to blame. Rather, the solenoid inner contact is worn out. I replaced my entire solenoid/starter (about $100 doing all the work myself) because I didn't know a source for rebuild parts. Since then, there have been several threads that mention suppliers of solenoid and starter parts. Run a 'search' using the tab above for solenoid and starter. You may find the sources and put them to good use if you're handy at rebuilding simple electrical motors and parts. I wish I'd known of them.
Good luck.

Have you ever checked to see if 12 volts is being supplied to small stud on solemoid, during attempted cranking ??

Do you have a FSM, if not I would highly recommend one, if you do they have a pretty easy troubleshooting section for this problem.
