I ordered a new starter from Jeff Kopp earlier this week and got it yesterday! Is that fast service or what?
Anyway, how high do I need to get the car in the air with the jacks to change the starter? Can I use the Rhino ramps, or do I have to use the car stands? Since it's in the back of the engine, I don't know how easy it will be to change!
You should be able to use the ramps on it... the trans cooler lines may be in the way if it's an auto... and you'll want to slide the starter towards the front of the car once your ready to drop it out.
It can be done with the car on ramps. The ramps I use give about 7" of lift at the tires and gave me plenty of room to install my Hurst shifter and drop the exhaust. I've also looked at replacing my starter since it is on the fritz, and will do it with the car on the ramps.
