Default 90 sparkplug rewire

All,

I'm in the middle of replacing the sparkplug wires on my 90 L98. Driver side complete. However the passenger side (the "fun" side) has this cheap plastic wire protection. SHould I replace this stuff? The shop manual sure doesn't mention it and due to the tight working conditions the extra width would seem to make a tough job even tougher.

Any opinions? I'd sure like to skip this but don't want to redo if this wire protection is really needed (last time I had wires replaced I hhired a shop to do it). My car is my daily driver so I have to have everything done tonight!

Thanks for your advice.

If you are talking about the "looms" or the clips that hold the wires and space them.....then yes you need them.

I'm talking about if I need the plastic looms that surround the wires.

I have a full new set of clips to space the wires that I'm using according to the shop manual.

I am not sure what you are talking about as I have an '84.....but if that plastic has any insulating properties I would say that YES you should have it.....Not critical that you get it in there today, but you may notice a miss.
