I'm in the middle of replacing the sparkplug wires on my 90 L98. Driver side complete. However the passenger side (the "fun" side) has this cheap plastic wire protection. SHould I replace this stuff? The shop manual sure doesn't mention it and due to the tight working conditions the extra width would seem to make a tough job even tougher.
Any opinions? I'd sure like to skip this but don't want to redo if this wire protection is really needed (last time I had wires replaced I hhired a shop to do it). My car is my daily driver so I have to have everything done tonight!
I am not sure what you are talking about as I have an '84.....but if that plastic has any insulating properties I would say that YES you should have it.....Not critical that you get it in there today, but you may notice a miss.

Put them in.
Thanks for your advice. Just took for a spin and it runs great!
