Is anyone using AFR 190 heads with TPIS headers? If so did you have any fitment problems or anything? or did they fit fine without any problems. thanks..

hi i have afr 190 heads and tpis 1.3/4 in headers and i had a problem with the #7 plug that is the last plug on the drivers side had to crush the header a little so it would not touch the plug and wire had to buy a asbestos sleeve to put on the plug wire so it would be safe :smash:

OK lets get a little more specific. I should have made this clear in my first post AFR makes three plug angles on the 190 heads. they are straight plug angle plug and L98 angle plug. What I have and what you need to get is the L98 angle this has been hashted over on this forum recently do a search. But where the confusion comes in is when someone say's i have angle plugs and they don't fit is they don't know that thier are two types of angles get the L98 it will fit..
The wires are close and as with all headers they are subjected to a lot of heat.
The way I solved that was to wrap the headers not only will that protect the wires but it cuts down on the heat under the hood witch comes through the firewall into the car. One way to reduce this is to buy the coated headers then wrap them this will void the warranty on the header but if you buy a quality header it won't be a problem. BEAU hope this clarifies this a little for you. :seeya

hi my heads WERE the L98 angled plugs and the headers were jet hot coated I also had livewire plug wires which are supposed to take 1400 degrees and the wire burned through before i added the asbestos coverswhen I called tpis and asked them about it they told me the headers were made for stock I98 heads I guess they are a tiny bit smaller then the afr heads
