Front cover seals
I am in the middle of replacing the WP seal on the front cover of my GS. The cover is still on the car. Can the opti seal be replaced, or would I have to pull the cover to do that one? I dont think it is leaking, but thought I would replace it while I have it that far apart. TIA

Yes the opti seal is the easier one it just pops in. The wp seal is very fragile.I have no idea why GM went with the replacement seal that tears so easily. The original on mine was much stronger. Use the spline oil it up and put the seal on it up a little bit. Insert the spline. Use a deep well socket the same size as the seal over the spline push it down and tap it with a hammer lightly to get it in all they way. That is what I remember worked the second time after I tore the first one mine was a 93 but I bet the opti seal on yours will still be the easier one.
