Default Sway Bars

OK, i posted this before on the crossfire injection forum and nobody knew. Question is: I have an 84, standard suspension. I want to put on bigger sway bars to compensate for this car not having the stiffest Z-51 springs. Problem: the front sway bar on 84 vettes curves under the fan shroud. 85-96 vettes have a straight front bar. according to ecklers and corvette central, 84-89 vettes all had the same upper and lower radiator housing. I've heard from several sources that straight front bars wont fit an 84. I was told by another source a straight bar might have different brackets that would drop it down lower. Ive looked at it from lots of angles, from some directions it looks like a straight bar might just clear it, from other angles it looks like a no-go. I thought about dropping the bar, taking out the rubber, bolting the brackets back up and trying to stick a broomhandle through the brackets to see if it clears, but im not sure that the later bars are Perfectly straight. In short, they built about 51,000 cars that year so Somebody out there must have tried or at least considered it before. Is there something different about the fan shroud in 85? did they move the radiator up or forward? did they move the brackets back? what can i change if anything to fit a straight 30 mm front bar in there? any help would be greatly appreciated.
