Default 84 - Missing under constant load

For those of you who read my story last week about how my car died, got towed, back fired so loud my muffler blew off (Joking), and then I fixed it with a $19.99 Ignition Control Module.

Since the installation of the new module, the car has been driving ok. At first there was a little hesitation, but nothing I am not use to with the crossfire system. Today while heading to work the car started to jerk violently and back fire all at once. I immediately slammed the car into neutral and it smoothed out. I pulled over and let it idle, rev ect. It seemed fine. I then continued on to work as I was only a few miles away at that point. It did it once more right before I pulled into lot.

After work, I headed home, it happened a few more times in the course of the 12mi trip. One of the times when I kicked it into neutral, the car still continued to back fire as if I was running incredibly rich.

What the bajeeebeeebeeerrssss is going on? No Check Engine light. Relatively new fuel pump, plugs, wires, cap, coil, and brand new ignition module. I would say all of those parts including a fresh engine rebuild have less than 15k miles on them. The module is of course new.

TPS sensor, IAC's? Anything guys. I havent the foggiest idea where to even start other than the Chevrolet dealer for a new vette

Don't just throw parts at it. Trouble shoot and diagnose defective parts before replacing them. I had a problem, once that while no where near as severe, might have had the same cause. Remove the vacuum hose from your EGR valve and plug the hose. Then go for a ride and see if it isn't better. If it isn't, it has cost you nothing for the test other than some gasoline for a nice cruise.

RACE ON!!!

Oh absolutely!!! I never want to throw parts at it as I would rather spend my money else where. I plan to continue diagnosing, resetting IAC ect. Was hoping to gather a few more tests so I can hit the garage. I am headed out there right now.

Check the initial timing, if it is too far advanced you will get bucking at constant load. Happened to me.
At night with the hood lights off, engine idling, look for sparks along each plug wire. Replace plug wire looms that are broken, they keep the plug wires from touching metal. Dress plug wires away from metal.
