I am slowly fixing all the problems on my 1991 Vette but the power antenna is a bit of a problem. The antenna will not move and is in the down position with no sign of the motor turning . I have found the relay and isolated the three wires to the antenna namely the grey, dark green and white wires. With these three wires isolated from the relay I want to run power to the antenna to see if it will work. From the workshop manual I have found that power should go to the dark green wire to make the antenna go up. My question is that if I put power to the dark green wire do I earth the grey wire or the white wire ?
When the radio is turned on, 12 volts is applied to the two pink wires at the Antenna relay. The Antenna relay energizes and provides the proper voltage polarity to the antenna motor so it turns in the proper direction to raise the mast.
Antenna mast goes up. When the mast is fully extended the motor stops.
When you turn the radio off, zero volts is applied to the pink wires at the Antenna relay. The Antenna relay de-energizes and provides the proper voltage polarity to the Antenna motor so the motor turns in the proper direction to lower the mast. When the Antenna mast is fully down the motor stops.
Make sure the WPR 25 amp fuse and the CTSY 15 amp fuse are good.
