1986 auto trans slipping - help!
I went for a drive today and when I mashed the pedal to get into passing gear, the tranny didn't engage. I then had to limp home in 2. The only engagement is in 1 and 2, not D or OD. This is the first time it has done this since I've had it. The previous owner had a leak fixed on one of the seals. The C4 has 70,000 miles on it. Where do I go from here?

The solution is:
Remove trans and overhaul
Remanufacture existing torque converter, or replace it with a remanufactured unit
flush cooler lines
