Ok fellas the spring is nearly upon us and one of my missions before summer cruising is upon us is to tame down my exhaust. Right now its rediculously loud. Its 3" all the way back through a set of SLP mufflers. To give you a comparison I just put a solid rear setup in another forum members car and he wants to do some more work to his exhaust so we have it run back with 3" to a resonator and open after that. Well my car is about 2x as loud as that! You can literally hear it coming from over 1 mile away at a normal cruise.
I get a lot of good comments from people that hear it, but driving it you should probably have ear plugs.
For racing I normally open it up just offf the headers about 3 ft, so racing performance is not a real big concern. Right now I loose about .2sec when I run it though the mufflers. The muffler are straight through if you look through them. With just some packing around the perferated perimeter.
Well maybe some of you have some ideas.
Give what CI you are using them on and how much resonance you experience in the car. Mine is equivalent to a B52 bomber in a garbage can!
Does anyone have any idea what an lt1 running through gutted cats a resonator with no mufflers and resonated exhaust tips sounds like? A sound clip would help.
