Default Melrose Header System

Hello, does anyone have the Melrose Headers (system) installed on their Vette? Im going tomorrow to the shop to get pricing for the system,(and install) I have JBA's and 3'' B&B exhaust on it right now, but one of the headers has a crack at the collector, so I figured i'd just buy some new ones. I have a Canton oil cooler on it and with the cat's on I have to take it off to change the oil filter...(of course canton didn't say anything about the cat getting in the way) so I believe with the long tube headers i'll have plenty of room to remove the oil filter...Thanks for any info you can share...Mike

There is a Melrose supporting vendor on the site. I can't remember his name. Try a search.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have on the system. I'm one of a couple Melrose vendors. I'm sure any one of us can help you. Call, email, or reply your choice.

Hello, First how much is the system without the smog stuff. And how can I make it work with the B&B 3" mufflers I have on the car, I really don't want to go with 2.5" mufflers. Thanks Mike

I bought ours direct from MELROSE. Have a L98 87 roadster headers fit GREAT ( no EGR, no AIR, and no CATS) and finish is GREAT 9 did have them JET-Hot coated and that is well worth the $ it will drop the under hood temps. did have some trouble with the 3" extensions 9 worked around it)and there are several write-ups might use search feature to check it out. Chris and his Dad at MELROSE where al right guys to work with and lots of help.
Good Luck wro87

I sell the system with no emmissions equipment or hookups at all for $1325 without clamps. Clamps would run another $100. There are that many clamps and they are the band/strap clamps no cheap pinch clamps. Clamps aren't readily supplied with the system bacuse Random Tech figured most people would weld up the majority of the system once it was in place. It breaks down into many peices for shipping and adjustment needs.

As for hooking up the 3" B&B mufflers, I don't know as I have not dealt with them. The system reduces down after the cats or where the cats would be. So what you would need to do is either replace the pipes from that neck down point back or increase the pipe back up in order to go into the B&Bs. These mufflers sit in the factory location correct? The dual system was not designed to work with one particular muffler system out there. because there are so many choices and each one goes about it in a slightly different manner, don't be surprised if a little tweaking to this system is needed in order to get it right. The only tweaking that would be needed is getting the mufflers hooked up. From the headers back everything should work perfectly fine.
