Default Source for original tires?

Anyone know of a source for orginal equipment tires with a specific DOT date code? I'm restoring a '96 LT4 Convertible with a late December '95 build date. I plan to have the car judged so I need a set of Good Year Eagle GT 40ZR P255/45ZR17 and P285/45ZR17's with date code xx5 where xx < 50)

Thanx

Not sure where you can find the originals, maybe Ebay?

In any event, you don't want a 285/45. No 1996 came from the factory with that size.

Std. Coupe (and GS Vert) Rear: 285/40-17
Std. Coupe (and GS Vert) Front: 255/45-17

GS Coupe Rear: 315/35-17
GS Coupe Front: 275/40-17

In addition the original tires were GSCs, not GTs

Thanx.

The "285/45" was a cut'n'paste mistake - Thanx for the correction

I got the Eagle GT information from this web page:
http://www.motorera.com/corvette/1990/vet96.htm

Mike Antonick's Cor-Vette Specs doesn't indicate one way or the other

However, the Corvette Action Center confirms Eagle GS-C's
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/.../96wheels.html

I would consider this pretty reliable information. Now I just need to find a set with late '95 date codes - good for 30 judging points!

My Grand Sport went from GM to the Dealer to me. It had GSCs

Good luck with your search.
