I need to remove the power antenna motor from my 1986. Does anyone have any experience with pulling one of these? It seems to me that short of pulling the rear bumper I can remove the far left tail lamp assembly and get to it that way. This leads me to my second question. How do I remove the tail lamp assemblies? Suppose I had to replace a bulb, how does the lens come off? Thanks

To remove antenna
1) remove 2 bolts at very bottom of antenna ( I reached mine without removing the wheel)
2)remove the ground about half-way up the antenna (tough to reach)
3)remove the black panel on the drivers side of the hatch, dig around under the carpet and the antenna can be unplugged there. The 2 wires
can be unclipped near the rear hatch release (take off black panel in back and its under it or the carpet)
4) wires and antenna wire are going threw a clip ( remove that clip) in the body near the wheel ( you can see where when you drop the antenna by looking in the antenna hole.
Thank you all for the quick responses and great information! I ended up pulling the rear wheel and inner skirt. I went from having a key hole view of the antenna motor to a grand canyon view. It's out and ready for repair.
