Default dead 93 LT1 help please

I recently bought a 1993 LT1, only had 49k on her. Love the car, but on my way home the other day she died on me, after 4 tries she refired and I made it home... now she won't hit a lick... any ideas?

Default car

hit a lick what does that mean, need to talk car terms does motor crank over and not start, or when you turn key it is dead ? optispark is what gm replaced distb. with starting in 92 it is on the frt of motor below water pump

My 96 just did the same thing today. Driving down the interstate and just shuts off without a sputter. Started after a few then got home with one event of the same and again it restarted after turning off and back on. Now it is in the driveway (thank god) and it will not start. Not even a sputter ... Just spins ... It does have fuel pressure at the rail. It acts just like a dead optispark but NOOOOOO.......
I replaced it 1 year ago with an accel unit... not this job again
Anyway anything else you guys can think of that would do this and is there a good troubleshooting (go down the list) guide posted anywhere for doing a mythotical check of the ignition system?

No friggin codes on my car hell according to the scanner my LT4 is perfect...My car started today after sitting for 24 hours. Started it in the driveway let it idle 8-10 min. then died dead would not restart just spin .. good fuel pressure .. ok yea wouldnt hit a lick and generated NO codes.
Now lets say....
If you were left on an island without your code scanner could you make a guess at what a problem might be or do you just like to make fun of a guy who uses terms like wont hit a lick or does not know what an optispark is ( you did read the part where the poor guy just purchaced the car! correct?)... ok I will translate for you ... the guy meant " when I engage the starter the motor or engine (depending on your critical take on which it is) it will not fire on any of the 8 cyl's" Other than the problematic optispark what else would be the likely guess ... Coil? ECM? Gremlins?

Thanks for sticking up for me, I bought the car in Atlanta, and I live in Asheville,NC. Called the dealer and all they could say is how sorry they are, yes she's a 15 year old car, but with only 49k on her, I would expect to get more than 3k befofe having to put more monies in her. Again, thanks for your insights, have ordered an autoscanner, will post more after I do a scan.

I would say Opti also. My 93 z28 done the exact same thing as yours. Oh, I also hear that the accel optisparks cause alot of problems but that's just what I hear.

Well, she's in the shop now, no fire, but the GM Junkie has her in his shop, and she'll be fine soon. But I have no good things to say about Buy a Vette.Net

Thanks for the update - I'm waiting on a new Dynaspark right now. Started breaking stuff down last night and I'm hoping this is the fix (pretty sure it is).

jimi...feel your pain...experienced identical problem as your's. My 94 is in currently in the shop undergoing an autopsy. I'm through w that Optispark distributor, OEM, Chinese, or similar. If you can afford it go w the MSD, a US made version. Before you throw money @ your problem check your FP(fuel pressure), water leaks from TB(throttle body) hoses & WP(water pump) and spark @ a plug. You've probably blown diodes in your OS & it's toast. You might have a simple fix...although I doubt it.

Cheers
