The nitrous system is finally installed! I went with a Nitrous Outlet single fogger kit, Stage 2 accessory kit (purge, fuel pressure safety switch, bottle heater, etc.), and an FJO progressive nitrous controller. The nitrous controller is programmed by laptop and serves as a window switch, delay, and ramp or curve.
I took it for a first spin tonight with 100 shot jets installed and 0 delay or ramp on the FJO. First impressions...the Nitto drag radials are hopeless in first gear and spin as soon as the nitrous hits in second. If I roll on it in 2nd at a low rpm, when it engages the nitrous at 3,500 rpm it blows the tires. I didn't try it in third or fourth. The stock clutch seems to be holding it.
Time to bolt the ET Streets on it and head to the track. Photos of the install coming soon!
I read it has 40 amp capabilities. Can this take the place of standalone relays for the solenoids?
I don't think so. The FJO activates the ground side of the solenoid, not the positive side. You can download the installation and user manual as well as the software at http://www.fjoracing.com/products/2stageminicontroller/
how is that you are monitoring/gauranteeing not to be in a lean state with the NOS activated?
i once had a a kit that had a piggyback module that over-rode the ecm under full throttle NOS activation. it would alter fuel and timing curves and worked very well.
Here's some photos of the install. It was purchased from and installed by Blazing High Performance in Durham, NC. Very reasonable and high quality work. Same guy that did my hotcam install. I was going to install it myself, but I couldn't beat the price.
Bottle heater, system arm, and purge switches underneath the dash above the throttle.
Purge out the gill.
Fuel solenoid and fuel pressure safety switch, which you can't really see with the cover on.
Looks great - but 1 word of advice - as soon as you need a refill get the proper blowoff cap so you can plumb the burst disc out of the car.
You are not legal with that set up and it could rupture your ear drums if it goes off while your in the car. You live in a hot climate, you will have to cool the bottle in the summer to keep it from blowing off - once it goes it will empty the bottle - you can use a blow down tube or make your own with -8an hose and fittings

Thanks for the advice. I've got the blow off tube that came with the kit, I just need to put it in. What psi is the blowoff cap set to let go?
jonecap next thread will read: clutch install pics coming soon ROFL!!!!!!
looks awesome. is 150 as high as that kit will go?
You're right. The stock clutch is going to have a short lifespan. The kit goes up to 200 horsepower. I'll need a fuel pump (and motor) long before that.

What's up with your car...got it running yet?
transmission went out in my truck. cant imagine why just got it done finally about 2 weeks ago. than had some very minor problems with it. pto sensor went bad, rear u joint went bad, etc. went wild with the trans and just put a very large tune in it. sum beech will fly now. which is wrong in a truck that size. needs bigger brakes now
im 99% done with the car. i actually still think i might make the richmond race.
im looking for some carpet. gonna do roller rockers instead of this Engine works shaft POS system i got. plumb the fuel pump.(tank is done and pump is mounted and partially wired).gotta mount the coils. other than that its stupid stuff like topping off the trans and getting it tuned.
i think that you should have the nitrous come in at closer to 3000.. that is what i played around and found to make it not blow the tires off. i orignally had the window switch set at 4700 and it wouldn't hook at all in second. if you are spraying as your cam is coming its too much. i don't know how you are blowing off DR's when my general all seasons can hold a second gear 100 shot hit.. interesting.. i did just rebuild my limited slip and it will not hardly spin tire anymore and i also had my car realigned to an advanced street setup. you can really feel the car settle in rear andjust rip. the two step makes it launch harder than anyting else i have ever driven. i haven't had a chance to get to the track and use the two step and nitrous together, they were both winter mods, but i am expecting serious results... i can't believe you are running those times with a stock throttle body.
