Default need more traction

Anybody know how I can get more weight transfer.Have a 1992 c4 with a ls1 with 415rwhp,auto trans 3200 stall converter and d44 3:45 ratio,using m/t 315/35r17 et street radials at 12 psi. I tryed running at e-town 2 weeks ago and had no bite.Last Dec. ran acto 11.74@115 with 1.604 60ft time.thinking shocks,sway bar,anybody have any ideas.

you should be able to hook 415rwhp on a nitto somewhat, bfg for sure and the MT is a no brainer. have you changed your bushings back there to energy suspension? doubt it's going to do wonders but those stock bushings flex when they are as old as ours are. spring rate and shock valving are the only things left, well that and driving style. what kind of 60' times are you shooting for?

Disconnect front swaybar.
Front runners
QA1's R series shocks for front; 12 way adjust

Adjust rear camber to get full tire contact on launch squat; not good for street tire wear , but little use running 315 tire with only 4'" contact patch .
Tire is vertical when static. When rear squats tire leans in at top lifting outer half of tire off track.Check your rear wear pattern after a run , you will see

With your 60' time and mph you arent spinning as bad as you think. I run 119.5 with 425 rwhp 3.75 gears, 2800 vigilante in my 93. 60' time is 1.7.
But, a set of ET Streets will cure your traction problem with the set up in post above. Usually a +1to +2 positive degree camber in the rear with zero toe, and front bar removed and if your run ET Streets, 12-16ps1 is fine. MT Drag radials are very very good too, but need around 20-24 psi.

Skinny front rims 15 x 3 1/2" with liteweight front runner race tyres.
Less drag and massive weight off front end.

Tire and rim weigh 20 lb v 50 lb for stock 255 /16" setup.
60 lb off the front of your car straight away and less rolling resistance

Okay. Remember ET Streets are essentially slicks. The radials are a different animal. Maybe I am confused, but Mickey Thompsons website explains the different tires. My ET Streets were Bias ply, not radials. But were DOT legal,

Id think 12 psi was a little low but Im not a track rat. Can you tell if you are getting a full contact patch on the ground?

rwisk, how do you do your burnouts? That makes a bigggg difference in some cars, and do you preload the car by leaning (raising the stall at idle ) on the converter? And do you wipe the tire (dry hop) after the burnout? I was talking with you that night at Etown about your LS conversion.

rwisk, if you run with us at the challenge, stop by and see me. I'd love to see that LS1 conversion and i might be abloe to help you with traction. I run 1.50 shorts and can hook on grass.
