problems with 89 instrument cluster!!

hello all, I'm a newbe to this sight but glad I found it! I have an 89 corvette and about 2 months ago my cluster started getting possessed on me! speedodometer, tach and gauges going crazy.have replaced the tach filter and old cluster but with no luck. could it be the ignition coil or maybe but hopefully not bad wiring? would appreciate any comments on this!! luck not to good right now plus cant tell fuel gauge either! thanks. darryl1969

Check your grounds, they will [lay havic with the cluster. Had the same problem - it was a poor ground.

it was the ground on the ignition coil!! if anyone has this problem please check this first!! will save 400.00 !! on new cluster.

I'm having a similar problem with my tach in my 89. Where is the coil grounded?

If your having trouble with just your tach then it is probably your tach filter. It will jump all over the place or sometimes not work at all when the filter goes bad..WW
